Tianjin University — Thermal Manikins for Garment Research

Time:2025-10-21

In the field of textiles and apparel, scientifically evaluating the thermal comfort and insulation performance of clothing has always been a core research task. Tianjin University of Technology has further enhanced the accuracy and reliability of its clothing thermal performance research by introducing our thermal test manikins.

The thermal manikins at Tianjin University of Technology can simulate human heat transfer and dissipation under both static and dynamic conditions. Equipped with multiple sensors, they collect real-time data on surface temperature, heat flux, and humidity. By accurately simulating the thermal comfort of a human body wearing different garments under various environmental conditions, researchers can scientifically assess key performance aspects such as insulation, breathability, and moisture management, providing strong data support for the development and design of new textile materials.

Through our collaboration, Tianjin University of Technology has successfully applied thermal manikins to garment performance evaluation, material innovation, and research teaching, significantly improving the precision and scientific validity of thermal comfort studies.
